The old craftsman of Kham, Zaxi, is always grinding bones beside the prayer wheel.
He said that every yak bone had once traversed snow-capped mountains and drunk on icy rivers, concealing the most passionate soul of the plateau.
He carved the bones into round and chubby Ah Dai, with dull eyebrows and eyes, like a smiling little guardian. "This is for those on the road. Let them have a bit of a silly look and not be too serious."
The Heaven and Earth pearl in the middle was obtained by him from the living Buddha when he was young. The black and white patterns were wrapped with the sun and the moon. The celestial pearl is the eye of heaven and earth, keeping an eye on your path ahead. Don't lose your way.
The turquoise on both sides was picked up by his daughter from the side of the sacred lake. It is as blue as freshly fallen snow. "These are the tears of the sacred mountain, which can wash away the dust in the heart."
Finally, he tied a green and red tassel and said, "The tassel is the shadow of the prayer flag. When the wind blows, it recites the sutra for you once."
Later, this string of beads fell into the hands of a stranger. As he stroked it in the neon lights of the city, he could always hear the distant chanting and see the light of the snow-capped mountains.
